Knights of Columbus Council 6514 sponsored an essay contest for the eighth grade students at St Joseph’s school and for high school students at Monsignor High School. The theme of the contest was “The Responsibility of a Catholic Citizen in Society”. A ceremony was conducted on Dec. 16th at St Joseph church following morning mass to recognize the 8th grade winners. Monsignor High school student winners will receive their awards later. Cash awards were given to first, second and third place winners. All contents entrants will receive participatory certificates. K of C Grand Knight John Steffi presented the awards.

The eighth grade contest winners were Carl Terns, first place, Hazel Cortese, second place and Rachel Krunosky, third place.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who entered the contest. All of the entries were excellent.
